At the heart of Whitby which is a wonderful place to sit with some fish and chips to watch the boats coming and going. Whitby has sandy beaches on both sides of the River Esk. East Cliff has a smaller sheltered dog-friendly beach, but West Cliff Beach is Whitby’s main beach. Stretching for two miles, you’ll find colourful beach huts, donkey rides, deckchair hire and a children’s paddling pool.
